Time for Three (Tf3) — a Grammy-winning American string trio of two violins and double bass. Formed in 2003 by students at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, the group (currently Nick Kendall and Charles Yang on violin, Ranaan Meyer on double bass; earlier lineups included Zachary DePue) describes itself as a “classically trained garage band.” They blend classical technique and repertoire with bluegrass, Americana, rock, jazz, hip-hop, original songs, vocals, and mashups/arrangements of everything from Bach to Kanye West, Guns N’ Roses, or pop hits.
