Picto Diary - 22, 23 July 2015 - sheeees she she.... sheeees she she

Above: The Bishop and new Duc. Harrison Motorsports. Salt Lake City, UT Circa 8 July 2015.

Image captured by Ren Charlesworth, bike salesman with whom I've been dealing for over 15 years of buying bikes.

Above: The Bishop plays rhythm with Andy Aldan de Santiago and his band at Los Doce Apostles restaurant near Morro Castle in Havana, Cuba. 14 March 2013.

I lifted this image from Morgan's great piece on the MotoDiscovery 2013 Cuba Tour in Rider Magazine, May 2014 issue.

I remember the moment. I was so into the music that I couldn't stand it any longer. I had to get up and join these guys. Seeing the rasp gourd instrument that I'm playing in the image lying idle, I just got up from my restaurant table, walked over to the band, picked up the instrument and started playing: sheees she she....shees she she.... sheees she she.

After I joined the band, my rider mates took my cue and started dancing in the restaurant. The band and the wait staff loved it.

Great time!

Cuba music. Not destroyed by Castro like the rest of the country.

TIMDT actually likes this place (Eureka!). She had a Caprisi salad she said she would return for. I ordered the small, baked Brussels sprouts plate for the second time in a week. My favorite vegetable (Brussels sprouts) baked in olive oil with melted Parmesan cheese, pine nuts, prosciutto, and corn. Just the right size. Also, they serve an 8 oz carafe of your favorite house wine for about the price of a normal 5 oz Utah pour in most other restaurants.

Addendum:

Looks like a lot of fun is still being had in PC. Wish we were there.

BTW, are you referred to as the Bishop because the church has made you a Bishop in the Mormon church? If so, that is news I must have missed all along.

I was a Bishop in the LDS Church in the mid-70's when we lived in Sydney, Australia. That, however, is not the source of my nickname.

About seven years ago, I was called "Bishop" by a fellow email forum participant who intended it to be an insult. In this individual's view, the name Bishop described someone doctrinaire, un yielding, and uncompromising in political discussion. I thought the name fit pretty well. Though intended as an insult, I took it as a compliment, and so I adopted the name "Bishop" as a nick-name/moniker.

TIMDT would love to see the two of you out here. Prosecutor's brother is in town for a few days... Miami Jim. Conjurs up lots of good memories from former times. Hope you are both doing well.

Yes, those were my imaginary friends when I was three. Later on my little brother referred to me as Kuh, and I referred to him as Buh.
