Picto Diary - 21- 26 November 2025 - Where's the Snow?

Image (lifted from Palisades subdivision Facebook post) shows, yesterday, southern Utah snowfall. Where Wasatch ski resorts are postponing 2025 opening ski day, Brian Head, located on the Markagaunt Plateau just east of the Pine Valley Mountains, opens tomorrow. Southern Utah captured snow that northern Utah missed.

The turkey giveaway in front of The Market supermarket (located at 620 Park Ave, Park City, UT), tomorrow, on November 22, 2025, is part of the 24th Annual Park City Realtors Turkey Drive, a longstanding community initiative aimed at supporting families in need during the Thanksgiving holiday. This event is organized by local real estate professionals through the Park City Board of Realtors and partners with the Christian Center of Park City to collect donations and distribute meals.

Snow blowing. People who haven't lived in this area for a while don't understand that no snow at this time has occurred frequently. I can remember ski seasons where the mountains were brown on 01 January. As long as it is cold, the resorts can manufacture snow and open up greater than 50% of their runs, even without natural snow.
