Picto Diary - 19,20,21 July 2015 - Kuh and Buh

Above: Monk, Flute, Research, 1911 ACP, The Bishop, TIMDT, Rancher, Bowl, Desert, and Dessert. 19 July 2015. Bar J Ranch. Someplace in central Utah.

Target Bank board, spouses, managers and former managers invited to the Bar J for steaks by Monk and Flute.

At rear of image (no pun intended): Old Bar J out house.

Cellist is playing a Bach cello suite as image was taken.

Above: Zach Johnson, Drake alum, autograph on bill of 'Cake's Drake University cap. 20 July 2015.

Outrageous to be at peaceful Beethoven concert at Park City Park and have 'Cake flaunt in my face his Drake boy's win at the British Open today.

Can't we just listen to the music?

Seriously: Congratulations 'Cake!

Above: Not a Russian Thistle. Don't see many of these. McLeod Creek. Park City, UT. 21 July 2015.

The more beautiful the plant, the more invasive? Dangerous? I wonder if those shown here are edible. Thistles are members of the artichoke family. Some are edible as I found out during my visit to Turkey earlier this summer.

Deux Magots walkers.

Above: Kuh (The Bishop) and brother Buh at Buh's fantastic home garden. Cottonwood Heights, Utah. 21 July 2015.

Buh is four months beyond a kidney transplant where his son, Sam, was the kidney donor. Both are recovering at expectation.

Buh shows how one achieves immortality through progeny. Our mother Gayle was home gardener par excellence. Here, in his own home garden (new water feature in background) Buh meets, if not exceeds, Gayle's standard. Gayle becomes immortal through Buh. No more important job in life than to set the base line standard for the next generation. Gayle did her job well with Buh.

After picking up the BMW F800 GS motorcycle at Harrison Motorsports on 90th South and I-15, I rode up to Cottonwood Heights to see Buh and San Jose. After our visit, I rode the F800 GS up Little Cottonwood Canyon, over Guardsman's Pass and back to Park City.

Addendum:

Steve -

Great to see you, Desert, Mrs. Driggs, et al at Monk's outpost.

The thistle you photographed - please carry a good pocket knife on your walks and hikes to cut down the thistle just below ground level - cut off and kick aside to wither. They're a very invasive, non-native plant.

What darling grandchildren! Grr is looking more and more like you when you were growing up.
Because he has Z as his close bud, I suppose he hasn't any imaginary friends that stays out by the curbside!😇

My imaginary friends at that age were Ernst and Ungh, right?
