With Apple TV streaming a whole bunch of great cable series are available on demand. I've started to binge watch this one. So as not to curtail important reading... currently reading "The Fall of the Ottomans" by Eugene Rogan - I force myself to read a chapter between each "Homeland" episode.

"Homeland," following the theme of an Israeli TV series reminds of "24." The series is about a terrorist threat to the United States undertaken by a Bin Laden like character who "turns" an Iraq captive GI into a terrorist agent before "releasing' him to a heroic welcome in the United States.

Covers all the cultural bases.... the Islamic terrorist.... the senior CIA figure who is an orthodox Jew, and the returning GI's family who are practicing Christians.

Hi Steve, and thanks for your comments after reading "The Brothers".

Since I feel the major world problem today is the Clash of Cultures between religious authoritarian Islam and Judeo/Christianity (with its separation of Church and State), it is difficult for me to understand Russia and Putin's seeming alliance with Iran. Russia has far more active difficulties with Islamic terrorism than have we. Sooner or later I expect Russia and the US will be on the same side in the culture war.
