Steve –
It pleases me to no end to see you and these other old geezers take on a trip like this one, and it absolutely blows me away to see you pull it off. I only wish I could join you in such an activity, but my balance is absolutely crap these days, and half of my joints aren't my joints anymore. Artificial knees, hips, and shoulders and fused backs sort of work OK for basic getting around, but they aren't as good as the originals were for anything that approaches athleticism. My motorcycling days are all behind me.
I'll have to finish my cruising days on 4-wheeled vehicles. To that end, I've recently picked up a couple of beauties - a 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 and a 1968 MGBGT with a Wankel 13a rotary engine. What the DeLorean lacks in zip (it's essentially a beautiful, but gutless, rolling piece of art with some brilliant design features), the rotary-engined MGB more than makes up for. It's an absolute rocket. The little rotary engine has incredible torque.
Life in Washington continues to go well for Carolyn and me. Send my regards to the LSDM crew in PC. We still have our 1/4-share at the Grand Summit at the Canyons, and I look forward on some future visit to Utah to making it down the Wasatch Bagels one of these mornings to say "Hi" to you all. I miss those morning meetings.
