In normal times there is zero wait time by shippers for access to a dock for unloading or loading. Currently, there are 34 ships at anchor awaiting dock space. The backup is caused by the lack of warehouse space in which to store unloaded containers, among other issues. That, in turn, is partially caused by rail complications. The current wait at anchor is less than the peak that was close to double this level but up from recent lows.
