Recommended by Lisa K. Very comprehensive breakfast menu for starters. TIMDT ordered eggs and sausage. Mwah (sic): biscuits and gravy.

After seeing the above quick pre review post, Lisa K. reposted as follows:
"Had the Murdock breakfast yesterday, we just missed you! Homemade bread, American cheese, grilled eggs, mushrooms, local sausage. I hope TMDT shared a bite with of her sausage with you, Bruce loves the biscuits and gravy!

I was so happy with breakfast I bought a t-shirt. Later discovered it was made in Haiti, crooked with off centered print.😆‼️
Their cinnamon rolls are legendary!"

TIMDT, who has the uncanny, magical ability to know whether a restaurant is any good or not just by looking at it from the outside, nixed El Bambi when we drove up. She agreed to go in only after I told her it was recommended by a trusted friend.

At first TIMDT said that she would order what she always does when she comes to a "place like this:" BLT. Then she saw the award on the wall: Best Diner in Utah, 2021. She then started scanning the very well presented, comprehensive menu... like a dozen different omelet options. Break thru! TIMDT orders eggs and homemade sausage with crispy grilled potatoes, buttered white toast and jam. She enjoyed her order and ate most of it. Neither of us can eat a full serving of anything anymore.

Nothing Sysco about this place. My order. Home cut, grilled potatoes, left on the grill for just the right amount of crispiness, prepared from scratch. Gravy on biscuits was totally authentic. Just the right hinted aftertaste of bacon grease. You know how you recognize a faux key lime pie when you can't taste the sweetened condensed milk? El Bambi's gravy was not "faux."

Check. Ice water served sans request.
Check. Strong coffee... didn't asked what they used. But OK.
Check. Opens at least by 7:00 AM. El Bambi opens at 6!
Nope: Separate men's and women's multi use bathrooms. Two single use rooms though. I won't take a lot off for this shortcoming, because, at least, there were two bathrooms.
Check: Toast served buttered.
Nope: Heinz Catchup. This is easy to fix. I urge them to do it.
Check: Sealed individual jam packets.
Check: Down home service with a smile.
Check: Unbelievably diverse menu.

TIMDT bought some greeting cards made by a local. She said she liked the place and wanted to stimulate the entrepreneurial efforts El Bambi was supporting. I asked TIMDT if she'd go back. She said yes. Now that's something!

Look. This was a great find. Shortcomings were minor. I give them the rating of "go to" breakfast place. Thanks Lisa K. and Bruce!
