DJT's banning certain countries and groups from sending immigrants to the US is troubling.
For example, there is a successful track record of value-added Muslim immigration and assimilation into the US. Had there been a country ban on immigration, many high achieving individuals in the US, contributing to the American ethic, would not be in the US now.

Grok. Here is a list of ten Muslim individuals who legally immigrated to the United States from other countries and achieved notable success or celebrity in their fields. I've focused on those with prominent achievements in areas like politics, business, entertainment, sports, and technology, based on available sources. They are listed alphabetically by last name [Ilhan Omar is a question mark as she is currently under investigation for immigration fraud.]

Shohreh Aghdashloo: Iranian-born actress known for her Oscar-nominated role in House of Sand and Fog and appearances in series like The Expanse. She immigrated to the US after the Iranian Revolution.

Riz Ahmed: British-born actor and rapper of Pakistani descent, acclaimed for roles in Rogue One, Sound of Metal (Oscar-nominated), and The Night Of. He studied at Stanford and has resided in the US for much of his career.

Khaled Hosseini: Afghan-born author and physician, best known for bestselling novels like The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns. He immigrated to the US as a refugee in 1980.

Iman (Abdulmajid): Somali-born supermodel and entrepreneur, iconic for her work with designers like Yves Saint Laurent and her cosmetics line for women of color. She immigrated to the US in the 1970s.

Jawed Karim: German-born entrepreneur of Bangladeshi descent, co-founder of YouTube. He immigrated to the US as a child in the 1980s.

Shahid Khan: Pakistani-born billionaire businessman, owner of the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars and auto-parts company Flex-N-Gate. He immigrated to the US at age 16 in 1967.

Aasif Mandvi: Indian-born actor and comedian, known for his work on The Daily Show and films like The Proposal. He immigrated to the US after living in the UK.

Hakeem Olajuwon: Nigerian-born NBA Hall of Famer, two-time champion with the Houston Rockets and one of the league's all-time greats. He immigrated to the US in 1980 to play college basketball.

Ilhan Omar: Somali-born politician, U.S. Congresswoman from Minnesota and one of the first Muslim women in Congress. She immigrated to the US as a refugee in the 1990s.

Hamdi Ulukaya: Turkish-born entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Chobani yogurt, a multi-billion-dollar company. He immigrated to the US in the 1990s to study.

Immigration policy should not be set up to exclude certain national, tribal, or ethnic groups. The founding documents of the US set forth a program of individual liberty and equality under the law, unique in a world were tribe and race defined the nation state. Individual liberty as America's core principle has worked well until recent decades where group identity and multiculturalism have superseded individual identity as the dominant organizational paradigm for American life.

Screen

It is true that certain groups would not assimilate into the US as easily as other groups. Check the above image for possible consequences of mass immigration sans individual screening. Voire the Minnesota Somalis. That is why immigration screening should be rigorous applied to individual immigration candidates only, irrespective of country of origin.

A US immigrant should:

1. Be fluent in English.
2. Have a skill that will enable immediate contribution to the national economy.
3. Sign a US loyalty oath which if violated would enable fast-track deportation.
