My, how the time doth fly! Grand parenting brings one as close to immortality as can currently be had on this earth. You watch your genes being transmitted into the future. Maybe that will change. Peter Thiel and a few other tech oligarchs are spending a lot of money backing scientific research into prolonging life. Still, I find it hard to believe that whatever is accomplished in life extension science, it will fall short of the joy experienced from watching your progeny take the baton and keep the race going without you.
